Getting the garden ready

There have been glimmers of warmness and sunshine down here on the coast and last week on a particularly lovely day I made a start at sorting out my garden. I was out there until 8pm pottering around. This table and chairs set is very weather beaten and so I have decided to give it a make over! Here is a before picture. image

Mr Penny-Wise is a very clever chappy and made this little shed for us last year. Our garden is too small for a normal sized shed. How cute is this!imageThe netting on the side is going to be for growing flowers. We hope to have some growing all up the side. We’re thinking sweet peas. We found the netting when clearing up a beach in Devon on holiday. We have put it up on the side wall as well, as you can see in the first picture.

We have got lots to do and lots to plant. We are planning on growing some vegetables and we have got strawberries growing already. We’re going to plant some tomatoes, potatoes, beetroot, radishes, peas, purple sprouting broccoli, herbs, lettuce/salad leaves and some chillis. I can’t wait to show you some pictures when we’ve done a bit more work. We will be barbecue ready too!

What are you growing in your garden/window box? Any tips or recommendations for my garden?
