Five Fabulously Frugal Things 29/6/18

5 Frugal Things, 5 Fabulously Frugal Things, Five Frugal Things

Welcome to  Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week! This is part of a wonderful link-up of blogs and pictures full of lots of frugal ideas. You can also find the hash tag #5frugalthings over on Instagram.

I won’t always have 5 frugal things but I will share what I have been doing regardless and I’ll use this as an update post of what I’ve been up to.

what I’ve been up to…

I had my lovely giveaway and I had so many wonderful comments. Lots of blog posts coming up!

I mentioned before that I wanted to save the money for my double glazing before going ahead and booking it, well I’ve done that. Yay! It felt so good to be able to pay for it outright. We saved for a few months and got four different quotes before we decided to go for it. It has made such a difference to the look of the house and also to the noise. I can also open and close the windows properly now!

We bought our house back in December 2016 and we decided, given our circumstances of getting into debt before, to save for and pay outright for every home improvement we want to do. It does mean that it’s going to take a while to do all the things we want to, but we’re happy with that! We’re playing the long game. We’ve recently done up our spare bedroom as well. I’m looking forward to sharing the process with you soon!

I have been watching Love Island! Have you been watching it? It really is addictive TV. I love the people watching aspect of it and I’ve been loving it! If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen in my ‘stories’ that I even bought the water bottle! Haha! I just want to say that it came out of my ‘spends’ budget. I did actually get a DM asking me how I paid for it! Haha!

I have also been watching some of the World Cup. Have you been watching it? I love how enthusiastic people get about it.

I’ve been doing lots of reading as well and am reading this fab book by Laura Jane Williams.

Do follow me over on Instagram where I often share what I’m currently reading. I also published this post this week on how to save money on books. I’m planning on sharing book reviews here too.

I have absolutely been enjoying the sunshine!!! Has it been sunny where you are? I love it when the sun is out, it makes me feel so good and totally recharged. I’ve been enjoying ice lollies and iced coffees. Long may it continue!

I’d love to know what you’ve been up to this week, let me know in the comments.
